Abstinence Education
The Institute is committed to mobilize local resources to provide education that abstinence is the ONLY way to prevent unintended pregnancy, STIs and HIV/AIDS.
Program Goals
Decrease the number of youth engaging in risky sexual behavior to prevent adolescent pregnancy, STI’s and HIV/AIDS.
Program Objectives
- A decrease in the number of youth engaging in sexual activity
- A decrease in STI infections rates
- A decrease in the teen pregnancy rates
Participants
- Male & female adolescents
- Youth and young adults, ages 10 – 21
- Elementary, middle & high school students
Program Design
Deliver, and consistently reinforce, a clear message about abstaining from sexual activity and/ or using condoms. Participants will also learn interpersonal and communication skills, as well as explore their own values, goals and options.
